Creativisual and the University of Alberta's Technology Training Centre have partnered to offer individuals quality training in the Adobe Creative Suite. XHTML and CSS courses are also offered to help individuals update their existing HTML knowledge to incorporate the new web standards for website building.
Visual Design: Designing for Print and Web
Course Description
Designing any marketing materials can be difficult. This course is designed to make the design process easier.
Topics covered in this course include:
- Design Principles: Contrast, Repitition, Alignment, and Proximity
- Colour Theory
- Colour Wheels
- Typography
- Document attributes for print and web
Adobe Illustrator will be used to implement design principles however prior knowledge of Adobe Illustrator is not necessary.

Adobe InDesign CS3 - Level 1
Application Description
The new de facto standard in print layout, Adobe InDesign was released to replace Adobe Pagemaker and to compete with competitor QuarkXPress.
Course Description
After completion of this course, students will be able to:

- Format text and use both character styles and paragraph styles.

Adobe Photoshop CS3 - Level 1
Application Description
Adobe Photoshop has shaped the graphics industry since its introduction in 1990. Adobe Photoshop is still a leader in the bitmap graphics industry, and has spawned a sub-culture of graphics artists that "Photoshop" images.

HTML/XHTML - Level 1
Application Description
XHTML has become the new standard for web development. The HTML language has now become very strict in terms of how a website is built. This course is designed to introduce HTML to beginners or to help update one's knowledge of HTML.

Adobe Dreamweaver CS3
Application Description
Adobe Dreamweaver is a web development application that is commonly used in the web development industry. Dreamweaver has two editor views. An HTML editor mode, and a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor mode which allows users to easily add and format text, add images, and implement other web languages such as Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and Javascript (JS). HTML knowledge is not required but is strongly recommended.
